Monnàber Vell
Mallorca
This historic estate of 160 hectares, 40 of which are under cultivation, can trace its origins back to at least 1236, when it is first mentioned in notarial documents. The little group of buildings cuddle together in a pretty valley in the foothills of the Tramuntana mountains which edge Mallorca's west coast. Monnàber Vell is very much an active farm with almond, carob, olive and fig trees under cultivation, and grazing for sheep. It's a delightfully quiet place, but the main road network is just a few kilometres away, giving convenient access to all parts of the island.
