Consell Flea Market
Mallorca
Not everything at the Sunday morning flea market in Consell is either art, or an antique, but you never know what you might find ..... after all, you can usually expect over three hundred stalls. It's a great scene, with stalls set up in the nice wide streets, so there's no overcrowding, with people from all over the island looking for a bargain, meeting old friends, having a drink or a snack, and haggling over that special item.
You name it, and it's probably here - in fact, all of life is here! Old screws and nuts and bolts, tools of all kinds, shoes and clothes, furniture, paintings, books, lamps, jewellery, crockery, cutlery, kitchenware, toys and dolls, bicycles, weird and wonderful appliances, and a mounted pig's head - yes, really. There's also a refreshment stand with a circular BBQ for sausages, and a really good baker's stall.
It's probably best to drive and pay the nominal fee for the well organised parking. Alternatively, the train from Palma takes only 20 minutes, but you'll need to take a bus or taxi from the station.
