The Forn des Teatre is one of Palma de Mallorca's landmarks. The bakery was founded in the 19th century and was restored in 1916 to its present Modernista style. The bakery speciality is the classic Mallorcan ensaimada pastry with a range of different fillings to suit all tastes. Ensaimadas can be boxed to take away and they can also be delivered to the harbour and to Palma hotels - they make a great gift!
It's not just about ensaimadas at Forn des Teatre - there's a fine selection of other bakery products, both sweet and savoury, as well as a variety of local wines and liqueurs.
In 2008, the bakery expanded to the adjacent café premises where you can enjoy tapas and light meals of typically Spanish and island specialities, great coffee, cakes and other snacks, either inside on rustic barrels or al fresco on the large terrace overlooking Plaça Weyler.
Open every day from 9.00 am until an hour past midnight.
