Description
Fornalutx is situated high in the Sierra de Tramuntana, overlooking the Soller valley. The village features traditional stone buildings surrounded by citrus and olive groves, offering a rustic setting. The hike follows narrow streets to view local architecture before continuing through the valley’s orange, lemon, and olive trees.
Along the way, the guide explains Mallorca’s farming history, Moorish influences, ancient irrigation systems, and dry stone terraces dating back to the 10th century. A small picnic featuring local seasonal products is included. Depending on the season and availability, there is an optional visit to a farm in the Soller valley.
Please inform the guide of your fitness level in advance, as the hike can be adapted for beginners or moderate walkers. Good walking shoes or hiking shoes are necessary. Meeting point can be arranged in Fornalutx.
