Poble Espanyol
Mallorca
The Spanish Village Poble Espanol (the Spanish version is Pueblo Español)in the western suburbs of Palma de Mallorca is something of a curiosity! The walled complex is home to small scale versions, apparently accurate, of a couple of dozen famous and historic Spanish buildings.
The complex is a maze of streets and plazas where the miniature buildings intermingle with shops, restaurants and cafés, artists' studios and craft workshops. The place was built in the 1960's during the Franco era, at the beginning of the massive tourist boom, and it's been a popular place to visit ever since!
Open from 09:00 to 19:00 (April to September) and 19:00 to 18:00 (October to0 May). Free entry for residents, a small charge for visitors, reduced by 50% if you show your Palma sightseeing bus ticket.
