Description

Rent a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard from El Nino Surf Center, our beach base in Can Pastilla on the eastern side of Palma Bay. This is a self-guided rental: no instructor, no fixed route, just you and the Mediterranean for one hour. Can Pastilla is one of the calmest and most forgiving stretches of coast on the island, with a sandy bottom, shallow water close to shore and almost no swell in the morning, which is exactly why we run the rental slots at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Pick up your gear at the centre, get a short safety briefing on where you can paddle and where the swimming zone boundaries are, and head out. The double kayak is a stable sit-on-top model with two seats, ideal for a couple, two friends or a parent with a child. The paddleboards are wide beginner-friendly allround boards that are easy to stand on even if it is your first time. Life vests and paddles are included, and a waterproof phone pouch is available on request. Paddle along the shoreline towards the marina, look down at the seagrass beds through the clear water, or just float and enjoy the view back to Palma cathedral in the distance. Our team keeps an eye on the water from the beach the whole time. Come back to the centre at the end of your hour, rinse off and change at our facilities, and the beach bars and the promenade are right there. Basic swimming ability required. Minimum age 14 to rent alone; under 14s must share a kayak or board with an adult.
