Fishing villages used to abound in Mallorca, but many have been absorbed into larger developments these days.  However, the fishing tradition is still strong and top quality fresh seafood is available every day all over the island.

Many restaurants specialise in sea food dishes and the best of them can usually be found close to the old fishing ports.  Because sea food is very popular with the local people, prices are not usually exorbitant, except perhaps at some very high end restaurants!
