Betlem Hermitage
Mallorca
These days, the Betlem Hermitage is occupied by hermits from the Congregation of Saint Paul and Saint Anthony, and it's not possible to visit the inside of the old complex. However, it's worth taking the trouble to go there for the wild beauty of the land and seascapes, and for a walk around the area.
Originally a Muslim farmstead called Binialgorfa, the property traces its history back for over 700 years. It's located in an unpopulated mountain area about 8 kms north of Artà and is accessible by car as well as on foot or bike.
