Sa Punta de N'Amer Castle
Mallorca
Declared as a 'Natural Area of Special Interest' in 1991, the headland on Mallorca's east coast known as Punta N'Amer houses Talayotic remains and traces of occupants of the Ses Crestes and Ses Pedreses caves dating back to even before that.
The little castle is really actually a defence tower built in the 17th century to keep watch for enemy ships and is complete with moat and drawbridge, making it unique on Mallorca. Today it houses a tiny museum of weapons, documents, and objects related to the island's defence.
Free entry, opens 10h00 daily.
