Bistro del Tristán
Mallorca
The Tristán Bistro Restaurant offers stylish, relaxed alfresco dining on its terrace overlooking the marina in upmarket Puerto Portals. Open the whole year except January, the Bistro is less formal than its two Michelin star brother, Restaurante Tristán, but operates to similar high standards of service and cuisine, albeit in a less complicated style.
There's a great Mediterranean ambience at El Bistro de Tristán and the associated champagne bar, with its gardens of palm trees and bougainvilleas, the splendid yachts in the harbour, and every chance of seeing a well known face or two. Service is attentive, professional and fairly relaxed.
As you'd expect from any Gerhard Schwaiger kitchen, the food is wonderful, and exactly what you would look for in a bistro. From snacks to full blown meals, the emphasis is on fresh seasonal cuisine featuring great flavour combinations presented in a simple style. Prices are not inexpensive, but are reasonable for the sheer quality of the whole offering and the sense of well being that wafts around you.
It's advisable to book in advance, especially in high season, as this is a very popular place.
