Weather Overview

Mallorca's climate is typically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, humid winters. The island is protected by the Tramuntana mountains which shield it from northerly winter winds and collect most of the rainfall. Except in the mountains, Mallorca winter temperatures are generally mild and, even at night, rarely drop below freezing. Once or twice a year, the mountain tops get a light dusting of snow, which adds a new dimension to this sunny island's beautiful scenery.

July and August are the peak summer months in Mallorca, with prices to match, and the many glorious sandy beaches are packed with visitors and locals soaking up the sun. If you prefer less than oven-like temperatures, September and early October weather in Mallorca is very reliable, and the sea temperature remains comfortable. Spring starts early in Mallorca and it’s well worth visiting to see the eruption of colour from almond and other fruit trees and the sometimes spectacular wild flowers.  Along with October and November, these are great months for a round of golf in Mallorca or exploring the island on foot or bike. In fact the island has fantastic weather almost the whole year and many visitors come to the island through autumn, winter and spring to escape the Northern Europe blues.
