La Finca Galatzó
Mallorca
The Galatzó estate has been in public ownership through the Calvià Municipality since May 2006. The property represents about 10% of the surface area of the entire municipality and is one of the largest estates in the Balearics. The finca occupies the north west salient of Calvià and borders on the municipalities of Andratx, Estellencs and Puigpunyent.
Permitted activities here are hiking, cycling, and, with prior permission, horse riding - be advised, however, that access to vehicles is restricted, and parking outside is limited. You'll find toilets and maps of the four routes at the finca, but there are no refreshment facilities, so be prepared. Picnic benches are provided.
The usual access is from the Capdella - Gallilea road and the best seasons are spring, autumn and winter - it can be very hot in summer. The various routes are well signposted, so navigation should not be a problem - choose your route carefully as some are easy but others are more demanding.
