Mallorca Planetarium
Mallorca
The Mallorca Planetarium was added to the complex housing the Mallorca Astronomical Observatory in 2003, and is open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Sundays and public holidays are reserved for arranged groups.
As the programme is regularly changing, and is also somewhat weather dependent, it's probably best to call ahead to check the times and other programme details.
One regular feature is the evening programme starting at 19:00 on Fridays and Saturdays which explores the main stars and constellations, our own Milky Way and solar system.
There's a cafeteria for drinks and snacks - arranged groups can even reserve dinner here.
The Observatory itself is one of the most important in Europe, using innovative technology and credited with identifying and tracking a number of near Earth asteroids, including one named after Rafa Nadal, as well as more distant objects.
